Ford Offering Mustang GT 5.0 Motor as Crate Engine - $7,000

Wish BMW did stuff like this:

The 5.0-liter V-8 crate engine will be snatched right off the assembly line, which means it will exactly match the 412 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque SAE rating given to the 2011 Mustang GT. Included with the engine are the drive-by-wire throttle body, manual transmission engine harness, and flywheel. Customers are responsible for obtaining their own vehicle harness, alternator, and powertrain control module, all of which can be purchased from Ford Racing Performance Parts.

That'd be nice in an Ultima chasis....

I wonder how much a 2010 GT500 SC engine would cost?

Sure would be nice that it would work as a COMPLETE DROP IN
    for side projects,
but they would need to include the engine harness and ECM.

    $7000 ?

Saw this a while back, I think the $7000 should include everything to make it truly "Turn-Key".

    This with nitrous/forced induction in a < 2500lb body = FAST

Relatively cheap too. Click here to enlarge

You would like the Snapka's meet we have down here, there is one of those with a blower the size of a 2.0L I4 and headers coming out the sides. The cops even allow burnouts and short 100' runs on the public street in front.

I love how people hate on ford sometimes. The only car company that actually allows their customers to have some fun.

Coyote motor for 7k? $#@! it I'll take two.

Other people eat shit and die.

I'm not racist, I hate everybody equally; especially fat people.

    Chevy does too.

No reason to hate on Ford at all, the F150 is getting this motor as well, awesome.

Imagine you had to buy an N54 crate engine, and I dont mean a shortblock. I mean a CRATE ENGINE LONG BLOCK, bolt in and go deal. Like you can buy LS3 motors, on a pallet and lubed; ready to rock.

How much would an N54 run you? Just think about that for a second... NOT FAIR.

Why doesn't BMW offer the motors? I don't get it, they supply motors for plenty of small manufacturers why not the enthusiasts?
