    More Stage 3 prototype pics

    Tried to post this in the existing thread it would not let me so they are here. Took a few more pics for you guys, finished getting all the lines mocked up. Also got the stock actuators mocked up, looks like they are going to work well without even needing custom brackets. The stock brackets will work with a little tweaking. Now they need to go back into the car for final compressor orientation, DP's, charge pipes, then it will be sent off to for some testing and numbers. I have to leave all weekend for family stuff or I would prob have it close to being done this weekend. But were getting there. Again keep in mind this is the prototype. All lines for final kit will be stainless with crimp connectors, heat shielding, etc, etc, etc. For you Stage 2 people, have not forgot about you. Got all my upgraded thrust parts in today, flapper samples should be here Monday, rest of the parts are right behind them. So be patient. Things are coming together on a few fronts.

    Looks great! So will the stage 3's be both water and oil cooled like the stock turbos? How come the front turbo exhaust flange where it will mate to the downpipe is vband and the rear turbo isn't? Thanks!

    Playing with things. The Vbands are prob not going to work as there just isn't room for the transition from the T28 flange to the Vband. We will see

    There is more room in between the GT's than there is between the stock turbos. Problem is the housings don't have a cast on Vband so if we want Vband we have to use an adapter which are a few inches each of precious space. Looks like they are going to be DP's welded to a T28 Flange. VBand is so much nicer. But you have to give up some things to make it fit.

    Sounds like he may have an update for us Stage 2 guys around the end of next week.

    However, these Stage 3 pictures really have me second guessing my decision.

    I have to keep telling myself Stage 2 is all I really need...SIGH.

    I have no regrets. Stage 3's will be incredible but the XI drivetrain hasn't been tested that much at really high power. I think I'm good with the 2's and 480-500whp

    The price jump from stage 2 to stage 3 is going to be substantial, not to mention to take advantage of the power these turbos support you need to upgrade a LOT of areas on your car, if that makes you feel any better about your choice...Click here to enlarge

    I think I would only need a DSS drive shaft and rear axles to complete my transformation. Everything else is already on the car or about to be installed (M3 suspension bits / Diff lockdown).

    But the substantial difference between 2 and 3 is what's keeping me at bay. That and the new M4 that's coming out in two years :p
