My Pursuit of power lead to RK tuning/ICS

Well over the past year I have had some odd issues with my car not making the power it should, and my tuner suggested I take the car to ICS. Well I did, and they found that my cam timing was off along with the vano's. They timed the cams properly also installed a used vano's in, and slapped it on the dyno(the used vano's wasn't operating properly). Here are some of the results.

    18 psi SAE

Fuel pressure regulator was liking more boosts then 18psi.

Here is a pass at 21psi with 93 octane. The stock FPR couldn't handle it, and had to let off.

More updates to come. All passes were on 93 octane.

Just wanted to say thanks for George of ICS, and Jordan of RK tuning for getting my car on the right path.

    Hi 5

And they let you in the shop after all the negative things you said? I have to commend George.

Lets stay on topic. No drama. FPR has been replaced with an Aeromotive FPR, and old vano's was replaced with a new unit.

    Results to come soon.

Wow someone is possessed by the Christmas spirit.

    Ok, on topic it is.

Who was the tuner that made the suggestion?

RK tuning the person who has been trying to tune my car for about 9 months, and he basically told me this 8 months ago. I finally listened to him, and I wish I would have done this 9 months ago. I missed out on 9 months of using my car and enjoying it. He has posted on here in my other thread. I didn't feel like posting this in the old thread. This deserves a new thread. Car has made over 600whp with lot of wheel spin on the dyno. George can post the dyno sheets he has tomorrow here if thats ok? I only have a cell phone pic of it.

George probably will as soon as he is set up as a vendor again which he inquired about a few days ago. So as soon as he completes setting it up I'd expect to see your graph in this thread @ICS Performance

Excellent peak figures and a surprisingly nice and flat curve over a fairly wide rpm range. Beautiful.

Yea it should be very fun to drive now. With everything working as it should. We may try for a few more psi, and call it a day. I believe this was on 21-22psi 93 octane.

Do you really want to push the threshold for an impresssive number or just keep it where it is knowing its safe...??

It is already an beast given that graph, I would be quite pleased and not get greedy.

Its safe. I'll stay with 614whp and 548wtq until I get bored of it, and then get it tuned for race fuel c16 unleaded switchable tune for the track.

What type of power will the bottom end support up to as well as the turbo?

What power would you expect with race gas? How far are you pushing the turbo now?

Motor was built to handle more then this turbo can throw at it. This turbo has made nearly 800whp on built evo's, but I don't think I would be able to make that since those evos have ported heads with valves and cams. They also rev to 10,000rpms. With race fuel, better fuel pump/lines, intercooler it should easily do close to 700whp. Once I get bored of this power level I will go with that list, and maybe ICS cam's. Which will make me more power with less psi. Click here to enlarge

ICS cams interest me; once I see some more proven real world results, they may be in my future as well.

Yea for now I'll have to enjoy the car as she sits. Too much down time this past year on the car. I'll be picking it up tomorrow. Should be a nice day with no rain.
