The BMW X6 has changed the SUV game and the upcoming Q8 is evidence of that. Originally thought to be the Q6, Audi will call their BMW X6 rival the Q8. The car will be underpinned by the next generation Q7/Cayenne platform. The idea of the car was apparently well received in potential customer surveys leading Audi to believe it will generate an additional 25,000 yearly sales. And the Q8 is just the beginning.

Expect the naming same for odd Q series SUV's to denote traditional styles whereas even number will be the coupe style SUV's. So a Q2, Q4, and Q6 are all likely in the pipeline as well. Oh, and expect an RS version as well.
