    Back on topic:

The new base motor looks like it is going to be great. As excited as I am about what will be in store for the Z06, I have a feeling the 427 will not be in it. Hope I'm wrong, but we'll see.

Truly amazing work the Corvette team is doing. I'm really excited for the day this vehicle is officially announced. Corvette is my favorite American sports car.

6.2 is pretty good, they were saying they might go down to 5.5.

Now what will they do for the Z06?

The Z06 will definitely stay N/A that's for certain, since this is their most oriented track car. Hopefully its still a 7 liter but with the features of the LT1, and higer revving, pushing at least 550-580. Now that would be awesome!!!

Can't wait to see the C7 design. I'm still really digging the C6 Z06.

Nothing wrong with still liking the C6 Z06. The whole car is amazing IMO when it comes to performance. Engine is such a beast. If I owned one, I would never boost it. The car makes so much power in N/A form with bolt ons.

I swear I would I wish there was some type of cyber world where we could put Sticky and Nismo with two key board's in a ring. Both could go 12 round or however long it takes to see who wins.

The new LT1 not sure why there using the same old name looks very impressive cant wait to see what the Z06 and ZR1 have.

    That could be fun LOL...

The next Zed and ZR will need to be more powerful and likely slightly lighter than the current offerings. The thing to consider here is the GT500 is no threat to a Z06 or ZR1 other than maybe in a straight line and only then vs the Zed. I think we will see more carbon fiber in both cars and a bit more distinction visually between the two cars as well. The current Zed is the better car IMO for DD/track/build up duty but the ZR is cool as well. No matter what you can be sure they will be the fastest versions yet of the car.

So direct injection with forged h beam rods and pistons and hopefully a stout crank....me thinks a 7psi vortech kit would do wonders on the LT1 so long as they get the direct injection all squared away...

Modifying this new motor will be more troublesome. Definitely at first.

im sure the guys at GM know how big the aftermarket is on this and companies like Lingenfelter will definitely have their mettle put to the test to tune these new DI motors...thing is though GM will likely happily provide them with any info they need to make that happen unlike the euro or jdm companies

sure will...but im sure someone will figure it out...my money is on a centri setup before we see a twin screw...from the looks of the motor it seems not much will have to be crafted to make it fit thankfully

Centri may have a *slight* jump but we will see both relatively around the same time.

basically will come down to who can get the tune done the fastest...having to incorporate the fact that now they have to compensate for tuning when cyl 4-6-8 shut off is gonna be interesting for sure....the twin screw companies will have a bit more time to develop since they have to CNC or make castings of the manifold for the new LT1

GM is will be co-operating with a number of companies with regard to tuning... Vortech and Magnacharger for instance. Callaway, SLP, Lingenfelter and some other big name tuners will have pre production cars to prototype and engineer parts/software with. Expect to blower kits for that motor shortly after the hit the streets and by summer 14 it will be full blown madness.
