The VR6 motor is a tuners dream in the VW/Audi world. It can make big power especially in turobcharged form thanks to its very stout block thanks to the cylinder arrangement. The largest displacement version offered by the VW Group is the direct injected 3.6 24 valve but there is not too much power to squeeze out of it in stock form it appears even when a tuner as good as APR tackles it.

On 93 octane power goes from 227 wheel horsepower stock to 233 wheel tuned for a gain of 6 wheel horsepower. On 100 octane this output rises to 240 wheel horsepower for a gain of 13 peak wheel horsepower. Not exactly much to get excited about.

Still, for VW CC, B7 Passat, and Toureg II owners with the 3.6 direct injected VR6 this is a good ECU tune option at $599.00. Especially considering maps can be changed from pump, to race gas, to valet modes.
