Porsche Panamera Turbo and Cayenne Turbo sales stopped - Major recall issued due to fire risks from turbo 4.8 V8

Sales of the new Panamera Turbo and Cayenne Turbo which share the same motor are stopped by order of Porsche. Porsche issued a recall as well for 2011-2012 models. The reason for the stoppage and recall is due to a defect in the turbo compressor wheel which may cause it to break and force oil to be drawn into the exhaust causing risk of a fire. This does not affect all turbo models just those produced with an alloy wheel by an outside supplier in a limited run.

We urge any 2011-2012 Porsche Cayenne or Panamera turbo owners to contact their dealer immediately or call this number: 1-800-767-7243. There have been 37 reported failures up to this point.

Thanks for the heads up. I know two 2012 cars and one of them actually had turbo issues.
