Audi confirms the new A3 will get a plug-in hybrid model, sedan only for the USA
The new A3 was just revealed and it is a great, albeit cautious/repetitive, design. Audi CEO Rupert Stadler revealed in Geneva that a plug-in hybrid is definitely in the cards for the new A3. Well, we know Europe will get it. What about the USA? Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen when asked about it coming to the USA replied, "it would be our intention to bring the full range of technologies." Ok, that is fine with us and we see the appeal of such a model. Just please do not ditch the next generation RS3 in lieu of producing a hybrid.
The other piece of news is that the A3 will be sold as sedan only in the USA. Very disappointing to say the least as the 3 door (2 door + hatch) looks very sleek and would make a nice Golf alternative.
