    Turbo Cobra Dyno Video

    A guy I know just got his Turbo Cobra tuned and she makes some very nice numbers... If they could keep it on the dyno it might throw a better number IMO.

    Is it because of the amount of boost that he is running up to 5250RPM? It looks (sounds?) like that thing would keep making power if you raised the engine speed. I don't know much about the car/engine, not sure what is "normal" for these - and 1000hp is anything but "normal" Click here to enlarge

    Gotcha. I was just curious because I have heard Terminator Cobras can handle 1000+whp on stock internals. I've heard the same about all the GT500's and KB proved the new Boss 302 can handle that power level stock too

    @Sticky The piston to wall clearance is very tight so under WOT in 5th gear that motor is under full load. The pistons move as they all do but with only so much space they start bumping the cylinder walls and at some point they go boom. Now keep in mind a stock or lightly modded motor won't likely have the issue. But with bigger blowers and say over 650rwhp it will rear its head. Most Cobra's get thrashed thru 4th gear maybe early into 5th before the owner lets up. But for a guy like me who wants to play on the top end, its only a matter of time before it goes pop.

    Well then $#@! that car. I will try to make that HP in an M3. If I fail, at least I fail in an M3. I gotta start hanging out on this site at 6 am after a night of drinking more often. I didn't even realize how fun my own site was.

    In all fairness though all you would have to do is change the pistons and rings as the rods and crank can take the heat right? As in give it a little more clearance than factory and you're good to go?

    If I was looking for a bargain DD/drag car that model Mustang would be it.

    Does anyone make a draw-through MAF or blower setup with a top intake that allows for a "Top Fuel" style throttle body? I've always wanted something like sticking out of the hood that since I was a little kid, but I don't like carburetors.

    Something like this but that can incorporate the Mustang Electronics:
