    Dyno Results: Cobalt SS

Got my car back 2 weeks ago from the body shop, got in a little fender bender :/.

Desperately needed to know what I was putting down to the wheels. I finally got dyno'd.

Unfortunately, I could not get torque numbers. I do not know why this guy can't get them. He wouldn't even gimme 20 bucks off cause he couldnt get half of my dyno pretty much. $#@! wonders why business was slow, that was his excuse. Probably too cheap to buy the tool needed for the newer cars to get torque. He did the same BS with my GTI 2 years ago. I should have known better and gone to Specialty Z. Well, end of rant.

I have two pulls shown above, one in 3rd gear and one in 4th. I am running lean during WOT, I really need to get retuned. I think I can get at least another 20 whp putting my AFR down near 11-12. I should have about 350 wtq though..

Next mod is a clutch. Those dips are clutch slips lol, where I should be making the most torque.

I was pretty pissed off. His trick was to strap it all down on the dyno then tell me he cant. I want more power though!

Totally agree with you, but its weird. My wideband says 12.7 WOT. I need to do some logs and get a retune asap. Yes it is the shop right next to spearmint ryno, spot on.

@fastgti69 - I tried to rep you, but have done it too much recently I guess... I have really been interested in your car - these numbers are good. Very good considering weight.

One thing you might want to tell this shop owner - is that he makes no sense. Horsepower is derived from torque. You cannot have a horsepower "number" without knowing force/torque... Tell him he's full of it, and he has an adenda that I don't understand - but has one for sure. Dynamometers by definition measure force/moment of force - THEN measure horsepower by running the curve (Xmin - Xmax RPM)... Not sure what this dude is talking about.

wow..no trq?! sounds shady, plus he graphed against mph not rpm (not a huge deal but still). Sounds like he bought the bare minimum dyno or something.

Numbers look good though. Bet that thing is pretty quick.

The thing is he needed to attach something to my ignition coil or something or else he couldnt get rpm and torque numbers. Thank you for the help and interest in my car. Right before I went on there was a neon SRT4 with a BT putting down 360 whp and 390wtq.. It was working fine with his car... I can ask him to email me the file if you want to try though.

Nothing 'conservative' about 12.7 flatline on boost even with D/I @20psi. I run N/A cars in that range on 93pump.

Those second set of graphs you have posted appear to have blatant learned timing correction in the end of the curve. DO it right the first time and have the tuner calibrate it on a load bearing dyno for best results. No flash tune/street tune stuff unless you want a 85% result.

IIRC his motor is a $#@! to setup for torque/rpm pickup for an older dynojet 242, so i assume thats why it was horsepower over MPH.
