    Toyota FT-86 brochure leaked

The all new Toyota FT-86 will be at a dealer near you mid 2012, but the brochure for it has already been printed.
This car will first come out with a very new Subaru 4 cylinder boxermotor which produces 200 bhp, but enginewise will be folowed by a "less then 300 bhp" version.
These pictures come from a folder from Toyota's housetuner Modellista which only sells in Japan, so the car on picture has their bodykit on it. It will look a bit less aggressive when it comes to the showroom.
    Looks great though.

can someone please tell me how Toyota can put a decent interior in their "budget pocket rocket" but Chevy continually $#@!s the bed with their "flagship". . .(sorry just ranting - want a Z06 but realize that most of my mod money would go to remedy the interior rather than improve it's sick performance). . .

There will be three versions: Toyota, Scion, Subaru.

I remember reading somewhere recently the Subie is the one getting the "less than 300hp" engine.

My explanation is simply that GM is fat and lazy. They could do a better interior (they do for Cadillac) but it likely would exceed the price point the bean counters were aiming for. Kind of sad in a way they can't compete with others for the same dollars as far as an all around package is concerned. They do have the performance per dollar aspect down though.

Bob's Lutz's book "Car Guys vs. Bean Counters" sheds a lot of light on the way GM made decisions and countinue to make some decisions.

Its gonna be a direct injection flat 4 making around 200hp...supposedly hard to tune but it seems like a bunch of kids on there....they have no idea what we have been doing for the last 5 years.

I was reading it gonna PI and DI, so that makes things weird. Plus I want something that can get above 450hp easily. That doesnt look to promising from that. i think my best bet is still wait and get an s65 or amg of some sort...
