As stated by slicktop turbo doesn't mean laggy. Anyway, Good luck with the M62. Let us know how it turns out.

Nah, no harm will come from letting people keep talking about this motor. You never know what might learn...

I would go on Ka-t.org the forums there have tons of info and there are many turbo setups with small super responsive twin scroll turbos that will be much easier than a sc and have been proven reliable. But I believe you placed your order already so GL.

i can cancel it even in the last minute, so my options still are open.
the thing is i know new twin scroll aren't laggy, but the response of a positive displacement in off-road means a lot.
don't you think a roots is still better in very low end?

Yes, a turbo will never have the response of a roots.

You definitely need the low end response it provides for your application, no contest.

It all depends on what you want to spend and how complex you want it. The roots will be slightly better response but at a probably substantially increased price. You can go on zilvia.net and get ka turbo kits for cheap all day. Plus you'll probably make up for the little lag with more power up top. Still ka-t has info on all types of FI.

You always need power up top! But my point was the ka is pretty torquey with a turbo if you look at the dyno's of this motor and with perhaps a ring a pinion swap he would be easily in a good powerband easier and cheaper.

How is it cheaper and easier than an M62?

A turbo won't have the response of a positive displacement, just not possible.

Small turbo = power down low under load = great for offroading

just because our minds are tuned to 88mm turbo supras spooling up at 5k doesnt mean every godamn turbo is like that

turbos do have one major advantage, the more engine load you make, the better they BREATHE
Some people live long, meaningful lives.

Other people eat shit and die.

I'm not racist, I hate everybody equally; especially fat people.

if i do the installing i will the pics, but since changing the crank is too much for me I think i may drop the car at a shop and let them do the both installing the blower and changing crankshaft, in that case i don't know if they will take pics or not.
