    • Motiv single turbo E90 with Schrick high lift N54 cams hits 869 whp flash tune only

The Schrick N54 cams should seem to be a good match in high output N54's. You may recall that early this month VTT (Vargas Turbo Tech) made over 900 lb-ft of torque at the wheels along with 830 wheel horsepower utilizing these Schrick camshafts.

Cam tuning is still evolving. As is the tuning in general on this E90 335i. Strong numbers though, right?

No torque figures are shared and neither is the full graph but it gives you an idea of what is going on at 30 psi. The graph is said to be in STD correction. Motiv teased they could take it up to 40 psi. BimmerBoost would love to see it!

This is flash only tuning too. The significance of course is that it is done on the factory DME.

BimmerBoost e-mailed and messaged @CKI@Motiv for further details but they seem to be keeping specifications quiet for now. The car is being prepped for an event and more details will come.

So, are we going to see that 9XX N54 this year? The odds are pretty good.

Once we had the right boost profile we got a little carried away with Cam tuning. Needless to say the gains were well worth it. We didn't feel the need to push it much further for this event since we will be at 12.6psi atm and 4000ft ASL. We still have a lot left in this turbo and maybe next time we'll run E85 instead of E60. Wish us luck and stay tuned!

Sucks to not have the full graph or rpm or correction factor (why?) but this is the upper end of the N54 spectrum.

Cam tuning is a big part but I don't know if it's for the stock cams or Schrick:

That's a shed load o power.... i like the angel eyes reflected in the Dyno graph as well. Nice touch Click here to enlarge

        Just to clear things up.
We didnt venture out to set any records. We had a ideal goal in mind to run 30psi which happens to be about 850 on Jakes car. Since we were tuning the car to run at an ATM pressure of 12.6 we wanted to leave 2 psi room on the 3.5 bar so that we can adjust it as required for the 4000ft elevation at the event. This would also give us some space instead of maxing out the sensor. We do have a new 4bar coming to market that will allow us to run much higher boost but given our time constraints we didnt think it was a good idea to rescale a whole tune and re scale the AIC for Jakes particularly sized injectors and fuel system. We were very happy and content with 850 and my constant need to tinker with cam timing happened to push it over the current bar. The photo of the graph was sent to me by Jake when were were comparing VANOS settings and wasn't something he took to publicize so yes a lot of information is missing. Correction factor can be seen and set to STD and it was done with smoothing set to 5.
Jake and i finished upgrading this dyno a week ago to the new Winpk8 and for what ever reason we couldnt get tach pick up with the Bimmerlife coils. It seemed to work fine for PR and stock coils. Again we weren't trying to set records and didnt care much about making anything official with all data in hand.

I mean, they have the runfile. I don't know why they don't post a full graph.

I guess it's because they are still working on it? But then why post anything at all?
