    • Caveat Emptor - More Fabspeed exhaust woes, lies, and poor customer service

Fabspeed has come under a bit of scrutiny recently. Earlier this year Fabspeed supposedly was facing a class action lawsuit although nothing seems to have come of it. Fabspeed posted their response and it certainly seemed reasonable that they were the target of a low character individual.

How do you explain this though?

      To summarize:

      1) Fabspeed marketed an exhaust for the F83 (M4 convertible) that they never actually designed or tested for that platform. Additional underbody bracing on the convertible caused non-fitment.
      2) The only way for this to be discovered was for me to install the product on an actual M4 convertible. I paid for this, and also paid for the re-install of the factory system after it was clear that Fabspeed's exhaust would not work.
      3) Fabspeed refused to compensate me for the labor costs.
      4) Afterward, Fabspeed changed their website to indicate that the product does not fit the convertible, and then used the altered website to assert that I ordered the wrong product (and therefore the blame was entirely mine).

This is easily the worst experience I have ever had with an online vendor. PLEASE think carefully before using Fabspeed.
This guy bought a part for his F83 M4 Convertible that Fabspeed said fit the car. It did not fit. Fabspeed would not reimburse him the labor costs and changed their website effectively putting the blame on the customer.

Isn't that a bit petty? Why not reimburse the cost of the labor if the product was advertised incorrectly?

This issue is already being deleted/censored on other websites where Fabspeed is a vendor.

If you go to the Fabspeed website you will see the F83 M4 is listed under products although the F83 is not listed under their Valvetronic Exhaust System:

On the product page it does indeed now say the following:

Google's cached version of the page is too recent and shows the updated 'Does not fit F83 convertibles.' Lucky for Fabspeed, right? Well, someone at Fabspeed forgot to change the evidence on the Fabspeed.com.ua product page:

Caught red handed. You can see the previous page shows the system as advertised for the F83 and that it fits all M3 and M4 models: http://fabspeed.com.ua/bmw-m3-m4-f80...tem/index.html

The url for the exhaust also includes F83 right in the address showing they advertised it for the M4 convertible until later changing it. Watch them change the .ua page now after this although it's too late as BoostAddict already grabbed the screenshot.

Seriously Fabspeed? This was false advertising. It's your fault, not the customer who buys the product. You should have reimbursed him for the product and the labor, no questions asked.

Even their Youtube link still shows the old url with F83 in the title as do dealer pages.

      Absolutely ridiculous and absolutely unprofessional.

Fabspeed's McLaren line-up also is complete garbage. Their high-flow cats and exhaust caused the cabin to get hotter as well as the car to run way too over normal coolant temperatures just cruising down the freeway. Not to mention, their ECU tune even running race gas must be defective because the 675LT ended up being slower than a stock MP4-12C from my experience.

Nice article sticky, $#@! these businesses selling premium products for premium brands and having terrible customer service. This isn't even just poor customer service though, it is lying and trying to cover their tracks just to be dicks.

Its not like these products are the bargain cheapo exhausts either. This is paying out the ass for $#@! products.

If they want to sell overpriced pieces that's on them and the market but blaming a customer for their own mistake? Then changing the website to put the blame on the customer?

That's just ridiculous. I have no idea who at Fabspeed thought that was a good idea and why they are still employed.
