    • Whoa - 100% stock 2016 McLaren 570S goes 10.27@135.2 in the 1/4 mile

What do you even say to this? McLaren's entry level 570S is running low 10's out of the gate and this is supposed to be the 'cheap' car. This is not some magazine ringer and this is not a magazine time. The 1/4 mile was achieved the old fashioned way on the dragstrip as it should be.

Yes, this was achieved at ATCO in New Jersey which is one of the fastest drag strips in the nation. The time and date is not listed on the strip but looking at the weather on 4/20 when the run was said to take place the conditions were quite favorable and basically sea level.

The 570S of course has a detuned M838T 3.8 liter twin turbo V8. An acceleration comparison video to the big brother 650S showed the cars as almost even. Weighing roughly 300 pounds less than the 650S clearly pays dividends despite the claimed 79 horsepower difference.

To really know the output we all have to wait until one gets on the dyno but if you thought McLaren would neuter the 570S compared to the 650S you were wrong.

Note, the video below shows a 10.511 @ 135.25 pass on a 1.852 60 foot and not the run in the slip below. Also note this was done on street tires with some race gas mixed in. That means with a just tune or possibly even just race gas and drag radials the 570S is a 9 second car.

Damn that's blazing fast almost to fast I wouldn't be surprised if this was tuned as I've seen a bunch of tuned examples all over social media with big gains. If it comes off the showroom floor this way kudos to mclaren for going balls out and not neutering the car to not upset 650s owners this destroys the 911 TT imo.

Not tuned. Its mine. Click here to enlarge I knew when I first got on it merging onto a highway and saw 130 before blinking that it was making big power. Just didn't realize I could run a 10.2 with it. Kudos indeed to McLaren.

You might be able to get it into the 9's with drag rubber, cooler weather, and race gas alone.

        Congrats. Awesome ride.

Thanks. I'm afraid to start going down that path! If only I had figured out how to do a burnout in the morning when the air was much better. The ECU does not like to rev past 1500 rpm with the brake pedal depressed. Wound up using launch control on the concrete pad just to clean off the tires, and that made the difference. Cleaned them and heated them up a bit.

So you just used launch control for a burnout and not a launch? You launched trying to brake/torque like an automatic?

I haven't seen any tuned examples, mind sharing a link or two? I'm very interested!

That's what I'm thinking.... Turn in the Audis for around 110K combined and I still need 90k+ ..... Click here to enlarge

This is actually just insane. What the hell. This is hitting heavier than a 650S!

In theory there is more room to tune it as well. Software alone should make a big difference unless they really neutered the turbos.

What's even more crazy is how this was done on a 285 rear street tire, how does it hook up so well?? And even more they're likely the stock PZero Corsas which aren't exactly even a great drag tire even in the realm of street tires.

It has most of its weight on the rear tires, the car is light, and ATCO is prepped well. 285 is plenty wide for this car too.

Just one example. The ecu was tuned by powerhaus performance in NJ but the car is from Cali and ran those numbers in cali on 91 octane

Vbox graphs? True I think they were just reposting a customers picture I would hope it was done on same road. If this thing is running 135 traps they are deff believable

For sure I just wish someone would post a dyno already.

        Same here.

AWE released sports cats and an exhaust for it damn it actually sounds pretty good IMO much better than the 650s.

Why bother with a 650s when you can get this throw on a tune with catless downpipes and some Trofeo R tires. I'm starting to really love this car

I'll have to take a look. AWE probably has some graphs up.

Man, I'm having trouble keeping up with everything going on right now. So much good stuff.
