    • Voodoo + 11.5 psi of boost = 819 whp - Lethal Performance Whipple 2.9 liter Ford GT350 twin screw makes huge power on E85

This just goes to show how having a motor that is incredibly efficient in naturally aspirated form does not need a whole ton of boost to make a whole ton of power. We were very excited to hear that Lethal Performance was putting a 2.9 liter twin screw blower on the Voodoo V8 with Lund Racing doing the tuning.

Why the excitement? Because the Voodoo offers incredible volumetric efficiency, high revs, and a relatively flat torque curve. That means with a bit of boost you can get incredible results. To put it in perspective, the Voodoo V8 makes another 120 horsepower at the same boost on the same blower as a Coyote V8 in the Mustang GT.

More power with less backpressure means less heat and that the blower does not need to work as hard. Not only will the Voodoo make more power than the Coyote at similar boost it will make it over a wider rev range while being less susceptible to heat soak.

      Just look at this curve:

It just keeps making power toward redlin thanks to its original top end design. It is not hurting for torque either with plenty down low and plenty throughout the entire rev range. There is something to be said for the flat torque curve on a twin screw supercharged motor. No turbo lag here.

The upgraded fuel system with E85 of course makes this possible. If this motor were direct injected there would likely be issues attempting to get a motor revving over 8k to run 100% E85 at over 800 whp this early in its lifespan. Port injection is hardly obsolete in the performance scene and continues to show major advantages.

      Incredible numbers.

I got to drive (the $#@! out of) a 2016 Roush Stage 3 late last year and they have 670 at the crank and it pulled hard as hell alllll the way to redline. I can't imagine what this thing feels like pulling 800+ WHEEL to 8000 rpm. It would make me wet my britches.

Edit: sorry bout dat long first sentence. #sorrynotsorry
