    • Bone stock Ferrari 488 GTB runs a 10.3@137 1/4 mile in Bahrain

We know the turbocharged 488 GTB should be much faster than the naturally aspirated 458 Italia it replaces. Especially in the 1/4 mile considering the Ferrari now has turbo torque to get it off the line quickly. EKanooRacing took what they say is a stock 488 GTB to the Bahrain dragstrip and here is the result.

On a 1.706 60 foot time they managed a 10.372 @ 137.35 miles per hour. That is a very impressive run but this sort of performance should put the 488 GTB roughly even with the 650S from McLaren.

So why did we see a 488 GTB lose from a roll to a McLaren MP4-12C which is less powerful than the 650S? Was that 488 GTB a dud? Was the MP4-12C tuned? Is EKanooRacing using race gas? Is the Bahrain dragstrip accurate?

All valid questions. We will need to some runs on NHRA certified US strips to put this result in context.

This will easy be a 9s car with simple bolt ons and a flash tune. Flash tuning is already present for these cars, I think it shares same ECU as California T and Maserati Quattroporte (biggest model, same engine as California T). So no doubt these guys went for a baseline test!!

That is just sick. We live in the greatest time for high HP cars.

Interesting ... Looks like they are short shifting the car in the in car video not sure why they would do that if it makes power to redline. Seems like something to do to a tuned car that runs out of turbo steam up top

I need to see a dynograph of the car.

I also want to see more passes in a different location with a different car.

        No, that's Yas Marina: http://www.bimmerboost.com/content.p...s-from-2013-on

Although Bahrain has questionable results as well.

Something just doesn't feel right with the drag racing and times over there.

my dear your an admin here in this forum, and you should know everything before posting anything.

for your information the MP4-Mclaren which is in the video is not a stock car it has an upgraded 650s gearbox and full exhaust ( and some says that the car is tuned and some says no i'm not really sure about this )

I dunno if you don't like our Middle East Dragstrips and this is something i don't care to.
but about the Bahrain dragstrip is still under the NHRA licence. i think your not allowed to say anything wrong about this Bahrain Dragstrip.

If I were to guess I'd say tuned. The video claims stock but if you read the article you see I question this.

From when I spoke to the NHRA it was stated Bahrain is part of their worldwide program but does not hold an official license.

        @Sticky
If you take a look at this here, which basically is almost same spec as the 488GTB, the numbers might actually be true.
