Audi will offer a diesel A4 in the United States in 2014 - 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbo diesel
So good news for diesel lovers, Audi continues to expand their diesel offerings. At the Los Angeles International Auto Show last year Audi showed a huge expansion of their diesel lineup with diesel powerplants set to be offered in the A6, A7, A8, and the Q5. Curiously absent was the A4 considering what a high volume model it is for Audi. Well, the good news is that Audi decided the A4 will also get a diesel option but it will not come until 2014.
The thing is it will not share the same 3.0 liter turbocharged six-cylinder motor the previously mentioned Audi models will get but instead will receive a 2.0 liter four-cylinder TDI option. That means less power and torque but still a respectable 184 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The six cylinder on the other hand offers 240 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The 3.0 liter was considered but apparently Audi thinks sales would be too low.
More details to come when the model is officially revealed.
