    Lightbulb M275 Intercoolers Question

Hi I was wondering if these (m275) intercoolers use same coolant that engine uses. I mean water that circulates in intercoolers comes through engine? Or intercoolers have their own different coolant circulation circuit?

That's a good question. I would think to have the most efficient system you would have separate liquids but Mercedes has been known to use the same coolant.

Let's hope we can get you an answer.

Ideally you would want to use separate coolant for the intercoolers, radiator coolant is very hot. Going from 320F air through 210F water heat exchanger depending on the heat exchanger design is going to net you only maybe a 50F drop. Using an exchanger with 100F water will bring you down probably 100F or more.

Newtons law of cooling, the farther apart two temperatures are from eachother, the faster the rate of heat exchange between them.

If intercoolers share coolant with the engine I am going try to make separate coolant circuit with reservoir 2 johnson pumps and may be wrap intercoolers in heatshield material . I know that guy with SLK 32 AMG done this

Hi, I think your picture of the Maybach IC-System answer your question by itself. All V12-BT Benzes have a separated IC-System.

Why it does not have reservoir then how do you add or change coolant in intercoolers?

It is a closed system without a reservoir. MB has special equipment for bleeding pr

It's a closed system that is often difficult to bleed properly.

This would be much more helpful in the M275 section. Moving.

True, but it can be a DIY if you are decent around a car. I'll post it here in a bit, just came home from work.
