Stock 2014 Porsche 911 (991) Turbo all wheel drive Dynojet dyno numbers - Comparison to 997.1 and 997.2 in power and torque

Fabspeed Motorsports recently got a 991 Turbo in for exhaust development. Obviously their exhaust system is going to add power and to show just how much power a baseline dyno is necessary. Fortunately Fabspeed has access to an all wheel drive Dynojet for their baseline. Due to the popularity of the Dynojet and the well known loss figures employed by the dyno it makes comparisons to other Dynojets fairly easy. So how much power is the standard Porsche 991 Turbo putting down?

494 horsepower to all four wheels in SAE correction and an eye opening 602 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. PorscheBoost is not sure if the runs are numbered in order as it would make sense that heat soak affected the lower runs. Regardless, the peak figures are quite strong.

Compare these Dynojet numbers for the 991 Turbo to the Mustang dyno numbers for the 991 Turbo S. We all know the Turbo S is more powerful yet this is a good example of different dynamometers reading differently as the Turbo S Mustang figures are lower than the Turbo Dynojet figures.

Also compare these figures to a 997.1 Turbo with a tune on a Dynojet in SAE correction. The 991 Turbo is making more power stock than an ecu tuned example of a 997.1 Turbo. The torque figures show a huge disparity.

Here is another Dynojet graph that shows a before and after tuned 997.1 Turbo on a Dynojet in SAE correction:

Now this dyno graph shows a 997.2 Turbo with a tune, exhaust, and intake. It then receive a new tune from AMS and goes back to the stock intake:

The stock 991 Turbo is showing more torque than some tuned 997.2 Turbo models. Obviously this varies depending on the quality of the tuner as shown. It is roughly on par when stock with a well tuned 997.1 Turbo in horsepower and torque. A well tuned 997.2 puts out more horsepower at the wheels but with slightly lower torque. That is huge and it will be interesting to see how much Porsche left on the table for 991 Turbo tuning on the stock turbochargers. Regardless, the 991 Turbo is quite strong stock.

Well honestly for those numbers I expect stronger numbers at the strip than I've seen.

I want to see what the 991 turbo S puts down on the dyno ! Do the Turbo S still offer better turbos like the 996 generation did? Or is it an ecu tune basically on the same turbos

Well we have the Mustang numbers just not Dynojet yet.

Yes, the Turbo S has several changes including the turbos. I thought about doing a writeup on it but didn't think people were too interested.

If those figures are correct that would mean the 991 makes Just about the same power as a tuned 997.2 turbo. The is according to the AMS dyno.

We did quick test for tune/exhaust tip 997.1tt vs 991 turbo s
The 997.1tt beat it until by 2 cars for about half mile then turbo s pulls on top

@Sticky I for one would really like to see an article with the differences between the 991 turbo and the Turbo S.
