    Macan spec sheet leaked

Too bad it's in Chinese, but I think there's some good info to be gleaned here.

The dimensions have been released by Porsche some time ago, except for weight. A bit more porky than I had hoped at 4,250lbs for the S and 4,292 for the turbo.

18" wheels standard for the S and diesel with 19" turbo style optional, and the turbo gets 19's as standard.

5.5s to 100k/h for the S, 6.2s for the diesel, and 4.8s for the turbo. 157mph top speed for the S, 140 for the diesel, 167 for the turbo.

PTM and PSM are both standard across the range as would be expected for an SUV. PASM is optional on the S and diesel, standard on the turbo. Based on the configuration of standard/optional dots, I don't think sport chrono is going to be an option on the Macan, although there is something called "SPORT" as standard across the range.

We can't tell how much of these specs will apply to Euro and NA markets, but interesting information regardless.

Very, very good post and info.

The S looks like the better value. Is the 3.6 really necessary? Porsche gets 420 hp out of the 3.0 V6 in the Panamera S.

    That's newton meters not pound-feet. It's 427 pound-feet which is nice.

That makes more sense. 580lb-ft would be insanity in something that small

The S is definitely looking like the way to go here, at least based on this spec sheet. I mentioned in the original post the lack of sport chrono option, but then found an image of one of the test cars with the dial in place.

There are definitely more options for the vehicles than what we see on this sheet, and maybe some important ones like SC and PSE, along with full leather, embossed headrests, etc.

The weight and HP have got me a little less enthused about the car than I was originally. If this sheet is correct, the Macan S will weigh just about the same as a Panamera S, but with far less HP given from the same motor. There may be legitimate reasons for reducing the power, such as durability for off-road applications, but my sense is they are playing the same stupid game with the Macan and the Cayenne/Panamera as they have done with the Cayman and 911. We can only hope that they have detuned the engine using software and intake/exhaust, and not done anything to the hardware in the engine itself.

    That's exactly what I think.

That's how they do it in the Cayman S...

Macan spec sheet leak from China gives us horsepower, torque, and curb weight figures

The Macan debut is coming up in just over a week but thanks to a Chinese spec sheet leak we already have the specifications. The Macan S and Macan Turbo both have twin turbo V6 direct injected gasoline powerplants. The Macan S engine is at 3.0 liters with 340 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque. The Macan Turbo V6 displaces 3.6 liters and has 400 horsepower with 405 pound-feet of torque. There is also a Macan S diesel model with 258 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque.

The Macan S weighs in at 4250 pounds. The Turbo model is 42 pounds heavier at 4292 pounds. Not exactly a featherweight but significantly lighter than the Cayenne. The Macan Turbo will not give up much to the Cayenne Turbo despite the raw power difference.

The Macan S looks to be an excellent value especially considering Porsche gets 420 horsepower out of the 3.0 liter V6 powerplant in the Panamera S. Is the extra displacement worth the cost? We will know when we have the MSRP information from the Los Angeles International Auto Show.

Something is wrong with the weights, a diesel v6 will never be lighther than a petrol v6, both beeing turbo. The same goes for the panamera. I just hoped for under 4000 pounds, we just have to wait and see the official numbers.

Right, and the director of the Macan project stated the weight would be close to 3,7xx lbs in articles published last month. I think there may be some big errors in this sheet.

3700 is WAY to optimistic considering the platform it borrows (Audi Q5) which resemblance a lot , wheelbase is basically the same (2.807 mm vs 2.806 mm for the Q5) . I think and hope again , somewhere under 4000 lbs , the S version with active suspension would be a good deal , add a custom exhaust , a tune and would be a really nice car with over 400hp.

It's not going to be 3700 you guys are dreaming. Weights are probably spot on.

I agree 3700 is improbable, but they seem pretty certain in the article:

Porsche is yet to reveal any weight figures for its new model but Woehler suggests a number of weight saving measures, including the use of aluminium in the body, will see the Turbo hit the scales at under 3750lb.
