Active Autowerke stock BMW F10 M5 versus F10 M5 S63TU V8 with exhaust and downpipes Mustang dyno results

Here are dyno results courtesy of Active Autowerke showing the difference between a stock BMW F10 M5 and one with downpipes and an exhaust. This test was done on Active Autowerke's Mustang dyno. The baseline shows 488 horsepower at the wheels and 471 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. With the addition of the Active Autowerke Downpipes and Active Autowerke exhaust output rises to 514 horsepower at the wheels and 498 pound-feet of torque at the wheels.

That is a gain of 26 wheel horsepower just with exhaust modifications, impressive. Imagine what the gains will be with an ECU tune.

Compare these Mustang dyno results to what IND-Distribution saw on a Dyonjet with exhaust, downpipes, and an intake. The F10 M5 proves it responds well to bolt on modifications.

What's it sound like? If they manage to improve that gawd awful exhaust note I'd buy it just for that.
In all seriousness these are nice gains, what would this look like with a tune!?

    With a tune I'd expect 560+

We are working on a tune at the moment. Exhaust videos will be released shortly of both our race and sport systems.

I have seen a Hartge piggy back car push out 600whp at high altitude so I think 560 is on the low side.

You really can't compare the output if the runs are done on different types of dynos. The Mustang dyno above appears to read a little lower than say a Dynojet dyno. So on that particular Mustang dyno 560whp would probably translate to over 600whp on a Dynojet dyno but the only way to know for sure would be to actually run it on one.

Agreed. Being conservative plus these are Mustang numbers.
