I think more people opt for the Precision Turbos vs. the Garrett GTX options (ex: Tim's 1200 WHP+ 996 turbo uses Precision 6262s). I don't think there are many "regular" Porsche posters on the forum (mostly BMWs & Mercs), but you could browse around 6speed & and get more direct answers/data/results.

Also, there's a lot more work if you decide to run GTX Turbos:

    • Custom Headers -- Tial Alpha's can bolt into the OEM header, GTXs can't
    • Built Motor -- To make the GTXs worth running, you'll need to run big boost (beyond the stock motor capabilities)
    • Additional Cooling

Gotta remember, most people are happy with 750-800 WHP on their stock motors with upgraded turbos & supporting bolt-ons, so GTXs wouldn't be worth it.

Tial makes great product for for 700-850whp(Alph28-3071-3076) that's it. Only if your looking to get 900whp+ then HTA or GTX seems to be the answer, however lag becomes the issue. It seems like HTA3582 or 3586 light up around 4600-5000 RPM depending on supporting mods. Compared to A28's or the 3076's lighting up at the 3700-4200 RPM. Again the question becomes, what are you trying to achieve? 60-150 or 130-200+...
