55 kompressor is a 5 speed but the gearing is tighter here. I would still think 4th is closest to 1:1?

    I don't know, help?

Rule of Thumb: Whatever gear is closest to a 1:1 Ratio, so just google your cars drive ratio & figure it out

    You are correct.

4th gear is the correct gear. it can also be done in 5th gear. 4th is the closest to a 1:1 ratio

On 7 speed 5th is 1:1,not 4th,but it seems every one is doing it on 4th even though it shows higher #'s which is wrong #'s.
stock SLS 563 hp minus 18%=461.66 rwhp, now add headers and tune the end result is 478 rwhp!!.will you please explain it to me.

You cant just assume 18% drivetrain loss so generally. also, so many factors affect dyno results. Atmospheric pressure, humidity, ambient air temperature, state of heat soak, the individual dyno itself. The wheel HP numbers simply cant just be stated based on what the factory crank HP rating is. Make sense?

    I believe 5th gear is 1:1

With a 7G on a stock C63 you use 4th gear because of the limiter. On a tuned car 5th gear is the correct gear.

Ok so cars with limiter should use 4th so they don't bump against it but the numbers will be slightly inflated versus 5th which is 1:1. Hope that's straight.

thank you,but still i did not get my answer.
    and,
DFM,i did not assume that 18%,it's widely accepted by tuners in which i'm not one of them,i'm just an observer trying to understand the reasoning.
Thank you for a great Forum

The answer was 4th if no tune so you don't hit the limiter and 5th is 1:1 so if you have a speed limiter delete dyno in 5th.
