If I remember right it is a 430ci LSX with twin turbos. The ZR1 blower has been gutted.

Well, TT LSX's are the kings of power. No replacement for that kind of muscle.

Simply stunning. As I am new to this level of the game, what kind of money does a one off setup/tune like that run someone? 50k? 100k? I assume most of the cost is labor

sorry i didnt catch this question first time i looked through the replies. i believe the smoke after the dyno is caused by the tuning. when you run WOT like that the cylinders are igniting and are sustaining much higher temps than when he was at partial throttle bringing the revs up to dyno speed. when you let off, especially on a car making that kind of power, you need to spray some fuel in there for the first few strokes of engine braking. otherwise the temp differences can crack something or worse. that fuel that tuners spray in gives the cylinders enough time to come back down to temperature. i could be completely wrong but i believe this could explain the smoke.

well the car itself is over a 100grand msrp and they;re hard to find so you'll probably pay a premium on top. the kit itself im guessing can cost no more than 30grand. more than that and its a rip off for sure. imo the tuning was the hardest part but it seems they have things flowing nicely. ill tell you what though, i wanna see a fully modded supra pull up to this guy thinking hes got the best highway monster Click here to enlarge

There are actually quite a few Supras that would go toe-to-toe with this Corvette and some that would beat it.

I would love to see this run a TT Gallardo.

How about some 1300whp+ Supras plus this Corvette and the TT Gallardo (Underground Racing?) all at the same time in 1080p?

This Vette isn't the top of the TT Chevy Small Block game, not even close.

The top Supras and Gallardos would beat it, but there are some insane TT Chevy V8's out there.

There is a breed of car that supras and highway queens cant really touch. The guys who know, know.

    http://nelsonracingengines.com/new_engines.htm

2000 HP is typical, and 7s in the quarter is expected...

Watch the dyno videos of the nelson motors. The engine looks like it wants to climb out of the dyno room and rape the operator.

First video in the TT section.

It brings a tear to my eye....

I've actually been through their catalog and watched a variety of their videos. They have even put one of those TT 520CI in a MKIV Supra with an auto that runs 5s in the 1/8. In my opinion it's just not as exciting. A big V8 with an auto in some chassis, launch is drama free and shifting so smooth you can barely tell. Sure, you will be faster, but it just seems lame. I've been to NHRA drag races, and maybe I've just seen too many built domestic V8 drag cars.

Then I see a 6-speed Supra stage, nail a crazy launch, shift and squat with a loud anti-lag BANG, 185+mph trap, manually shifting! The engine just sounds and acts so much more radical.

Now Top Fuel, NOTHING is even CLOSE to being that crazy....... but then again, they run 60+psi, rebuild after every 1/4 pass, and pay out the ass for special fuel.

If any of you ever get the opportunity I HIGHLY recommend seeing Top Fuel dragsters run in person, there is just nothing else like it.

Can you find some 1/4 runs of Nelson Racing builds? I can't seem to find many.

Here is 7.91@188.92mph on a 6-speed with stock rear end, tranny, Toyoda Racing diff, stock axles, still IRS.

    Just insane:

This engine is supposed to be putting out around 1600WHP, will try to find dyno chart.
