It won't matter much although admirable. I'll just buy the best product.

It varies from platform to platform & from part to part, most of the top quality parts aren't from China. Actual bolt-ons for the most part (AR Design DPs, Active Autowerke, Kenne Bell & Whipple) are made in America, while software components tend to be made in China

EVO/GTR pieces tend to hail from China (HKS, Greddy, etc), but I view those companies more like Roush & are specialist in their respective fields (the JDM scene)

Yes, I certainly was not saying the best is from China. Just saying the best part will get my money.

    So an update:

    Motor build:
Engine has been honed and parts are all here...assembly begins and hopefully ends by 3/8. If that happens then 3/10 I will be putting the motor back in and trans at AUTOCouture.

Reassembly of lines and refilling collant, oil etc:
but then it will be up to Tommy to get the rest done on an off sunday again....being that hes getting married soon it may be a couple weeks. Then its break in time for a couple more weeks.

    Tuning:
Then its time to head BACK(for the 4th time) to rochester for what should be my FINAL pumpgas tune and also a racegas tune this time.

    Issues:
As the timeline goes its basically all but certain pocono is not gonna happen for me Click here to enlarge Just way too many things that need to be done with the car and the main goal is to keep it on the road this yr. The only thing I will be ok with breaking is the trans....hopefully we broke enough last yr that we are good this time around....

the rush was pocono...but now that it basically looks like the car wont be able to run 100% till after may now. Ill take whatever I can get. My builder said he will have it done by the end of next week but honestly im expecting it back around 3/15

I would think this product has to have a warranty and should be replaced. Although I am concerned about their quality control.

    So these are MAST heads?

So why not take super hi-res pictures of the heads and the issue and I'll put it up.

That would make sense as far as why the defect repeats itself but why were the heads not inspected?

ok so an update.... apparently they were rocker stud holes....my builders reservation at first glance was that these holes looked deeper than they should have been....he popped in a rocker and everything seemed to be ok...so back to your regularly scheduled programming....at least for now :\

For a Domestic Car with a fairly popular modded motor, there sure are a lot of "Euro" like headaches with this build. Def hope the rest of this goes smoothly so you can get the V back soon (and in good health)

i have learned from this build that even though the LSA and LS9 are derived from the LS3, these 2 motors dont share ALOT of parts from the other motors....or i should say they fit but those parts will not stand up to the power that the LSA and LS9 will create so GM opted to throw LSX equipment and parts at them....oil pump, pistons, rods, heads, crank, flexplate, etc...none of those parts are used on LS3 applications

i have actually learned the LS9 is basically an LSX without the iron block

So all good? No defects? No holes? Perfect and quality is as stated? If so, phew.
