Nothing like watching your brand new zero miles 458 burn to the ground. Makes life worth living.

Oh man what the hell? Why are all these cars burning down.

The failure mode is probably close to or the same in all these fires, they are happening in the same location. The failure percent is huge compared to any car on the road today. Think about it, 400 of these cars and 4 burned down. That is a whopping 1% which is HUGE for this type of failure. Car companies try everything in their power to try and prevent fires DURING ACCIDENTS let alone when just driving the car.

Woah Ive never seen so many accident so quickly on a new car. Something doesn't add up. Maybe something is up with the car as far as handling or traction. Or maybe its too fast for these guys?

I just am amazed at the fires and no one seems to carry a fire extinguisher.I have two in my car ,one in my wife's car and one in the dog's car and if you add all the cost of the three vehicles up they are worth about one oil change in a 458 Italia.

    Dude.

Can we make sure that the ones burning aren't repost images of prior burns? I want to see how many discrete 458's burned down, so far the count is like 5? I am not counting wrecks. I don't understand, the car should be able to protect itself, fire is the very last mode of failure a car could possibly achieve. Something is $#@!ing wrong with the motor, it keeps burning in the same spot.

    EDIT:

The wrecks have a simple explanation, car is too much of a beast for your average guido.

The fires though, make me very curious.

I think if that many are catching fire there should be an on board fire extinguishing system like we have on a boat.

Forget the extinguisher. You dont buy a 250k dollar car and have to jump out to put flames out with a 15 dollar extignuisher. The car shouldnt be catching on fire in the first place. There should be no need for an extinguisher.

I do not know , I have always carried an extinguisher in all my cars over the years no matter the value as $#@! happens and I would rather be proactive than reactive and sit and watch my car burn when a 30$$ ( Inflation ) fire extinguisher would have had a chance.I get your point ,but just since it cost 250,000.00$$ does not mean it will not have a problem as we have seen here multiple times.

The fail rate for these f458 is in its design. Car is amazing, but who the hell puts the navi where you put the speedo. I saw a walk around of this car and they say that you can either see the navi or speedo and not at the same time. These guys were probably trying to see where they were going on there navi and didn't know how fast they were really going. LOL

    I am keeping track.

It now looks like the automotive industry needs to come up with its own law describing the frequency of crashes involving the Ferrari 458 Italia. In the past 90 days, there have been 9 wrecks. One crash every 10 days.
