    A visit with CP-E at SEMA - Pictures of prototype N54 twin turbo upgrade

    BimmerBoost stopped by the CP-E (Custom Performance Engineering) booth at SEMA 2011. What immediately caught our attention was the N54 twin turbo upgrade prototype they had on display. We asked a lot of questions but did not really get any concrete answers. Basically, this is going to go on their shop car. There will be two different turbo options the smaller of which should bolt in and the larger turbos requiring permanent modification to the engine bay / chassis to make them fit. Do not expect these until Summer next year although they were talking maybe even Spring.

    How about the tuning? Well, the Standback was suggested for it. As far as fuel to support 700+ horsepower goals there were not really any answers but secondary injection was suggested along with a new HPFP (high pressure fuel pump). We know everyone is going to be following this closely to see what comes of it and we wish CP-E the best with this project which is obviously at very early stages.

    The entire product offering is pictured and pictures were taken of all the CP-E BMW products that were on display. This includes the N54 blow off valve kit, N54 downpipes, dual cone intake, N54 FMIC, N55 downpipe, and their 1M exhaust.

    Those headers are AMAZING! CP-E makes some GREAT quality and well designed products. I couldnt be happier with the quality, thought and design of there DP's with the 3inch belmouth casting compared to other DP's ive seen on my friends cars, they go beyond whats needed.. Cant wait to see what they do with this.

    Every tuner that tries to pull this off should be given a chance, Shiv included lol but I can't stand those that resort to teasing and then disappear without giving any feedback on why it didn't work out...in a way I do understand it given how the car/N54 community tends to be, full of lies/deceit/smart asses everywhere that'll just laugh them off especially when/if the company that really tried but in the end failed at delivering...

    i say respect to cp-e if they're indeed going through with this and not just using it to have something else to show at SEMA...

    trust me, ill be 2nd in line to get tthe stuff is if shown to work, but they came out saying wait until sema to see what we have for you guys. sema is here and only announce it will be a bit longer. its BS. same $#@! ve heard for years now from every company.

    I and probably many others were waiting to see the big turbo stuff they eluded to, and I for one, planned on making a call the day after (like today) to line up and bring the car in for what they had to offer---- but as it sits now, its just another marketing ploy

    I think we're all waiting for a larger twin turbo setup. If these can provide more power than the current front runners, with power to redline and no noticeable increase in lag, then I'd buy them. I don't mind permanently modifying the engine bay. I just don't want to run a big single. I'd have bought an Evo or M3 for that.

    Just got back from SEMA and got a chance to see these in person and they looked pretty good. I even saw Terry chatting with the CP-E guys. That black 1m is so hard.

    for the bolt on option, they need to flip that rear turbo around. Will intake and exhaust piping be needed

    people need to stop worrying about "hardware" and find the "software" solution. bigger turbo's yet RBs arent even maxed out yet.. cant get fuel to run 20psi to 7k but we can just add bigger turbo's to make a little more power mid-range, and still die off up top....
