So one car's tranny replacement is the rule of thumb now?

No one is saying there werent/arent issues, but lets just say internet has a way of distorting reality.

My friend over here has hit almost 40k miles his car is even modded for the past 15k miles.

His car makes around 650hp and is still on stock gearbox, so what does that tell?

    That there is an inconsistency.

It's true that they are strong than most people think they are but still there were a handful of trans issues. I'm with you that it was blown out of proportion.

Agreed. Blown way out of proportion, but lives on in the mostly-ill-informed group-think of the internet. On the plus side, there are excellent trans-build options readily available to R35 owners with a willing checkbook.

As a previous owner of an 09 GTR i find your wealth of info frankly a bit hard to swallow.

    And wrong too.
I am not a GT-R owner, however, my cousin is on his 2nd GT-R. He had an 09 and experienced transmission issues related to the launch control which caused him to trade the car in for a 2010 997 Turbo. He now has a 2012 GT-R and has not experienced any of the issues the tranny gave him on his 09.

If it's too difficult for you to "swallow my wealth of info," a google search should provide you with more "credible" information.

I dont need Google, i have first hand info. And in my close group of friends there are 3 09 GTRs. None of us have had issues with 09s.

You passed your info as definite, where as it is not.
