I defended the pride of M3 owners, and I didn't talk about his new car lol.

Mike's only one. No e46 M3? even with 800whp plus?

e46 has been out for so long and still no 10 sec pass? What seems to be the issue?

    Sorry out of BMW loop.

No E46, but plenty of E36's with less power.

A topic for another thread and this frequently gets discussed. The E46 is just plain weak for drag racing.

The M motor in the e46 M3 is too special to run fast at the drag strip. It only works at road courses. Click here to enlarge

Modding never really is, plus this what we call a GTR tax.

Anything over 850 HP, the costs rises exponentially.

I definitely understand. I'm just surprised people act you like you sneeze on the car and it makes huge HP yet it costs big bucks. Yet people criticize prices for tuning M3's to high HP levels.

There are more M3s, yet the mods are expensive. Plus no M3 has ever touched 9s. Not those old ones, the newer ones i mean 45 and 9X.

Why arent any tuners scooping on the market?

    Oh btw R1k is 80k.

    Not bad.

The E46 has the power, that is another discussion for another day.

HPF is in the big power market for the E46 and the E9X big power market consists of me and a few other guys you can count on one hand. BMW's are for the most part leased to people who want to look like they have money instead of people who actually do have it and are willing to mod. Different culture.

The GTR is a tuning platform out of the gate.

Switzer and AMS also provide problem free packages that offer quick spool up and really no compromises other than loud noise. The GT-R has a very complex transmission as well. If this car was a manual transmission then the progress would have gone by much quicker, though the results wouldn't be the same.

Bottom line is you gotta pay if you want to play

A very good point people often overlook. Not only on the GTR, but M3 as well.
