The 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon is endowed as expected with Cadillac's wicked 556-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that makes 551 pound-feet of torque. It's fitted with a true dual-exhaust system and backed up by either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

    2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon

From the March, 2010 issue of Motor Trend / By Scott Evans
If you followed our coverage of the 2010 Detroit Auto Show a few months back, you know Cadillac has a working knowledge of the copy/paste function, as demonstrated by the CTS-V Coupe -- essentially a CTS-V Sedan with Coupe bodywork. Not surprisingly, the formula is much the same for the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon debuting in New York.
As with the CTS-V Coupe, everything forward of the A-pillars was lifted straight from the CTS-V Sedan and mated to the Cadillac Sport Wagon's body. Not everything is the same, of course. The show special you see here features a new rear fascia with a special roof-edge spoiler and integrated third brake light, all of which are unique to the concept and could see production in the future. The car is finished in the same Midnight Silver paint as the Sixteen Concept, augmented by special Liquid Silver wheels and a Black Chrome grille.

Beneath the melded bodywork beats a familiar heart. The CTS-V Sport Wagon is endowed as expected with Cadillac's wicked 556-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that makes 551 pound-feet of torque. It's fitted with a true dual-exhaust system and backed up by either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Power flows to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential, and the 19-inch wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires.
An independent front and rear suspension keep the CTS-V Sport Wagon in tune with the tarmac, in concert with Cadillac's Magnetorheological adjustable shocks. Brembo brakes are fitted to all four corners, with six-piston calipers gripping 15-inch rotors up front and four-piston calipers clamping onto 14.7-inch rotors in the rear.

Have to admit, I like it as well.

Step in the right direction, I like this type of car and I like that they are expanding the V-line.

My wife is going to be all over this car, I can already see it....

...She always wanted a CTS-V, but was recently looking for a SUV instead. I dont mind a 560 HP wagon Click here to enlarge

I like the regular CTSV, but I don't like the wagon, and I'm usually a fan of wagons.

This is sort of like a dream come true. We're already madly in love with the Cadillac CTS-V in both its sedan and sexy coupe forms, and in just a few months, we'll have a five-door station wagon version that still packs the V's 556-horsepower supercharged V8, rear-wheel drive and a proper manual transmission. It's like General Motors made this one just for us (we aren't complaining). Want one? $62,990, including destination charges.

So, what does $63K get you other than some family haulin' lunacy on wheels? Leather, heated seats, navigation, HID headlamps, a premium Bose sound system and Cadillac's premium care maintenance service for four years or 50,000 miles. Optional goodies include the $3,400 Recaro heated and ventilated front chairs (you want these - trust us), $800 19-inch polished aluminum alloys, $600 for slightly fancier wood trim and $300 for suede on the steering wheel and shifter.

Realistically, you can get a perfect CTS-V Wagon with a six-speed manual and the Recaro seats for $66,390. That, folks, is one heck of a bargain. As great as it is, we're thinking that GM won't manage to sell a whole bunch of this very niche product, so we're thinking it's an easy pick for a future collectible. Hit the jump to read GM's official press blast.

definitely a sick wagon. Be my #1 pick for a wagon, since USA gets no wagons! No M5, M3, RS4, RS6...not even a 335 wagon!

IMO that's the best looking CTS-V variant no questions asked. Wonder how much heavier it is than the sedan?

The regular wagon is 300 pounds heavier than the regular sedan, should be about the same here although that makes it very heavy.

I agree the coupe is ugly! The coupe looks like long half baked hatch back. The wagon has actually has good lines to follow!

I would love to see the cts v wagon tested vs the rs6 wagon....is top gear listening?

Slam that car to the ground, put nice set of 20s on it, paint it black, xenon HIDs, full exhaust, headers, pulley, tune, 100 shot of nitrous; would be my setup.
Some people live long, meaningful lives.

Other people eat shit and die.

I'm not racist, I hate everybody equally; especially fat people.

Wagons are where we miss it and Europe has it dialed in. I miss my B5S4 avant so much. You get most of the utility of a SUV coupled with the handling and economy / style of a sports car. It's the perfect vehicle for someone carries bikes / surfboards, etc. frequently.
